DESCRIPTION:Join us for a night of solidarity and good food to support the Manitoba Health Coalition’s work defending and improving public health care. \n\n\n\nThe Manitoba Health Coalition is a non-profit\, non-partisan advocacy organization working to strengthen and defend public health care in Manitoba. Join us for our annual fundraising gala to support our work to uphold the Canada Health Act and keep profit out of health care. \n\n\n\nThe event will be MC’d by MHC’s vice chair Michael Redhead Champagne and will feature a keynote address from the Canadian Health Coalition’s Steven Staples. \n\n\n\nThe Raging Grannies will open and close the evening with song and there will be lots of great prizes and a 50/50 draw to add to the fun. \n\n\n\nTo purchase tickets or tables please send an e-transfer to: mbhealthcoalition@gmail.com

SUMMARY:National Day of Action: Break the silence. No two tier health care.
DESCRIPTION:Alberta’s Danielle Smith government has launched an unprecedented frontal assault on the Canada Health Act to end single tier Public Medicare & bring in U.S. private health care.  \n\n\n\nThe law brings in private for-profit health insurance\, direct billing of patients\, queue jumping for those who can afford it pushing everyone else back in line\, workplace private health insurance plans and more. It is not “like” U.S. style health care. It is U.S. private health care\, and for-profit health care interests are lined up to cash in. \n\n\n\nAll across the country\, public health care advocates are fighting back. We’re holding a national Day of Action on March 16th with rallies and other mobilizations taking place from coast to coast calling on the federal government to break their silence on Alberta’s privatization of health care and to enforce the Canadian Health Act. \n\n\n\nHere in Manitoba\, we’re rallying for public health care at the Union Centre (275 Broadway) on March 16th starting at noon.  \n\n\n\nBring signs\, noise makers and a passion for public health care!  \n\n\n\nProfit doesn’t care. No two tier health care.
